This is a flooded lead-acid automotive starter, not a deep-cycle or AGM pack. It is sold for cranking duty: 500 cold cranking amps in a compact Group 26 case so the battery seats in the OEM tray without a group-size change.

Use this SKU when the application calls for Group 26, 12 volts, and flooded SLI chemistry. Confirm group size, tray dimensions, and cable reach before purchase. Group 26 and Group 26R are not interchangeable. 26R reverses terminal layout; installing a 26-P in a 26R tray leaves the cables on the wrong posts. If the vehicle lists a different BCI group, this unit will not be a correct fit.

Warranty

Continental backs the 26-P Performance with an 18-month manufacturer warranty. That term is the one published on the Continental 26-P product page. It is not a 24-month Supreme-line term and not an Advantage Batteries house warranty unless stated separately at checkout.

Warranty coverage follows the manufacturer’s policy: defects in materials and workmanship for the published period when the battery is used as an automotive SLI unit in a matching Group 26 application. Abuse, deep discharge, incorrect group size, or use outside SLI duty typically voids coverage. Keep the purchase record. File a claim through Advantage Batteries or Continental per the policy in effect at sale.

Fitment and install notes

• Match BCI Group 26 on the existing battery or in the vehicle’s battery spec. Do not substitute a 26R-P unless the vehicle actually specifies Group 26R.
• Measure the tray against 8.19 × 6.81 × 7.75 in before ordering. Group 26 is smaller than common Group 24/24F cases.
• This is a flooded battery. Keep it upright. Do not mount on its side.
• Factory-activated means it ships wet and charged for install; still verify open-circuit voltage and charge if it has sat.
• After install, seat the hold-down and confirm cable polarity before the first start.
